The Monthly Wrap — March 2013
The Monthly Wrap — March 2013
Every day in March 2013, someone who could have been the daughter, son, wife, husband, lover, co-worker or casual acquaintance next door shared their life in all its simple, quotidian goodness…
Who contributed?

The typical contributor in March was female, lived in Nigeria and was active both on Twitter and on a blog.

How much did we engage?

A lot — typically over 100 page views everyday, primarily from within the UK, Nigeria and the US with a big shout for Senegal (fist bump to kmplx)

What did we write about?
We wrote about work — dreading a return to it, commuting through three states for it, rushing home from it, somewhat enjoying it, sometimes pretending to revel in it., truly loving it, DJing it and studying. We mused on faith — doing church, querying faith, crooning about it, growing up churched, and hoping. Family, featured too — children in all their cute-y littleness, growing up and having to choose love over endless prattle with family, and being thankful for them in our moments of quietness.
On food, our obsessions with agbalumo, tea and toast and cheese cake featured heavily as did cooking and choosing healthier alternatives than cheese cake.
We chased love in the form of the jazz loving, exotic Nigerian woman, leisurely enjoyed the company of loved ones, refused to turn a blind eye when it was offered and demonstrated a surprising ability to keep up with them via a plethora of social options.
A smashed Glo SIM and a reference to the #OgaAtTheTop meme showed our irritation with poor service as did our less than enamored comments about hellishly hot and freakishly cold weather.
All with the swag of pidgin English at times…
