It’s Saturday! Woke up at 6.12am for reasons unknown to me. Funny because my earliest wake-up time on Saturday is 9am. Could it be because I slept on the cold hard floor? Or because my cousin was busy going up and down the room preparing for her 1-day trip to Bida? . Oh well, I’m up!

There’s no wedding for me today, special function, or special workout session, so my day was filled with the bliss of nothingness. Now let me break this down; there was a lot of arranging, cleaning, sweeping, sorting through and throwing away of stuff but there was also a lot of lying down, reading LIB, watching TV (mostly E! and MTV Base) and generally just being a couch potato, hence the nothingness.

Today is special though — It’s my big brother’s birthday! Happy Birthday Yahaya Tarfa! He’s totally awesome. Nothing serious was planned to mark it so I didn’t bother going all the way to the other side of town. I just dropped the traditional birthday call. The cutest thing I received today was a voice note with my 2-year old nephew, Hara, singing ‘happy birthday’ to his daddy. It was sooo adorable (yes, I almost cried).

Our house was empty today and I LOVE being home alone. Half the house travelled to Bauchi for my Uncle’s burial (God rest his soul) and the other half went about their usual affairs. I, on the other, hand stayed at home and had me some me time with a simple lunch of spicy noodles (with lots of pepper and ginger), boiled egg and a glass of chilled Ceres orange juice to push it all down.

Around 4pm, a friend and I made a weird bet on one of the most anticipated matches in the world of football showing at 7.45pm. Hold on, I’m not much of a football fan, but I love to watch the BIG games, like this one. He’s for Borussia Dortmund because “they’re the underdogs” and have won this title only once before while I’m for Bayern Munich, mainly because I love Pep Guardiola (and it’s not because he’s a good coach, hehehe!).

May the best team win.*wink*
