May 16, 2013 — Misola

May 16, 2013 - Misola

I slept off quite angry with my boyfriend. I woke up still fuming and barely said a word to him when he came to pick me up for work. I think we made up later but I am still too mad to say.

Today was my friend’s birthday. One of the oldest I have. Surprising how we have spent almost 10 years as friends, that is practically half of my life, living on different continents and still forging ahead with a great friendship. Quick shalla to her.

Apart from that slight “excitement”, today was easily the most boring day of my life. Actually, I am sure almost every day of my life is like this. The most exciting thing that happened to me was getting the draft SEC Rules on Securitization; I actually whooped for joy. I honestly do not know why that got me so excited. I also got a few chuckles at work, describing the behaviours of participants at the meeting I went for to my colleagues, and remembering that the agenda for the meeting required an opening & closing prayer, which we actually did :o

Spent 2 hours in traffic instead of the usual 3 and got home at slightly past 7pm. Whoop! Enough time to catch up on Tinsel. Yup, still bleh. Today was one of those days that got me thinking about my life. I love my job, well sometimes, but the monotony grinds at my soul. I think there is so much more for me to do. I want to teach, I want to travel, instead I am stuck on the zombie train every day which boards at 5:30am and stops at anytime between the hours of 8pm to 10pm.

Well, luckily TGIF (almost) right? Which for me means, getting into bed at 10PM, rocking to music (kpangolo is my favourite genre) on my phone and finally winding down at 2am to wake up at again at the crack of dawn. Lol (just kidding).

P.S: I learnt today that the Rock of Gibraltar is actually the English version of Jabal Tariq (Mount of Tariq), named after Muslim Lieutenant, Tariq bin Zayad. No knowledge is wasted☺

Beyonce rocks!
