March 27, 2013 — Enkay

March 27, 2013

Most days, my morning routine is the same. Underline the word ‘most’. Today isn’t much different. Even though the alarm goes off by 4am, we don’t drag ourselves out of dream-land until ten to fifteen minutes later. As part of my goal to lose weight and stay fit in 2013 — no I am not fat, thank you very much! — I exercise for at least twenty-five minutes after our devotion time and then pack my breakfast/lunch. Hubby uses that thirty-five minute interval to catch some extra snooze. I envy him sometimes but I have a target to reach — lose another 3kg in the next 2 months.

Today, I did not pack any meal save for 3 apples. It’s my detox day. My younger sister, a weight-loss/fitness enthusiast, managed to convince me of the health benefits of skipping regular food at least one day a week and eating nothing but apples with lots and lots of water. To her credit, it does wonders for my bowels, lightening the load I have to carry around in my body. As for the other health benefits, well, I am yet to discover them.

By the end of this week, I’d have spent 6months in my new job. It’s not that I hate it here but it’s irritating to not have an exact closing time. I mean, who does that? So today, I do not know if I will be leaving the office by 5pm, 7pm or even 8pm.

My day is more than halfway done and a few thoughts chase themselves around in my head: I should attend mid-week Service today….We have a guest coming in from out of town tomorrow, I’ll need to get the guest room ready….I am having some great ladies over for lunch on Saturday, what to cook, what to cook…?

A small smile plays on my lips as I type this. It’s going to be a looong weekend! Woohoo!!

Happy Easter Everyone!

PS: My sister apparently forgot to mention that I would be going to pee every hour, on the hour. Another health benefit perhaps?

Enkay is an Engineer presently trying to find her way around the world of economics and commerce. I love to travel and experience new things. If there were no holds barred, I’d visit a different country every month! I keep a journal which helps me keep my head when losing it is one of the other options available. I am a believer in God; A believer in life and the possibilities that abound if we could just have faith. I try not to take myself too seriously but it gets more difficult as the years wear on. Colours and words fascinate me. I dream of being a best-selling author one day. Hopefully I’ll blog more often at my blog-home www.enkays-space.blogspot.com. I also tweet @penkay.
