It’s 13:49 on a beautiful Saturday and it’s snowing hard. It was snowing when we woke up in morning too. By we I am referring to the residents of Bas Vegas, the nickname of my town, earned by its being the partying capital of Essex. I haven’t done anything to verify this claim though. We are also reputed as loving tattoos excessively, daily evidence attests to this.
Was inspired by inspiration… to get my house cleaning done on Friday evening. I therefore could spend a bit more time peering out the window and watching the flakes move with varying degrees of speed and fluctuating radii of gyration. It was all well and good as long as I had this glass wall between them and myself. I admired their freedom and whatever else was beautiful about the sight that I couldn’t quite verbalize. That was before my mind drifted to what was looking like the most adventurous thing I’d done in a while. It was going to be my first time with a white guy. I didn’t want to consider running because I couldn’t keep running. Oh, I should you let you know that we don’t have any Afro-Caribbean barbers in Bas. This I guess is not far fetched if you consider the fact that the population is about 150 to 1, white to chocolate. A new barber is big enough a deal, talk less of one not expert in handling my hair type.
The snowing subsided and I stepped out to face my fears, a quick stop over at the bank and 15 minutes later I was seated in a waiting chair putting the barbers through an incognito interview of sorts as I watched them attend to other clients. It wasn’t hard to eliminate one and I was left with the other. It was now time, or a run to fight another day. I took my seat and “placed my order”. He got down to it, I was unusually relaxed considering it was a first time. Fifteen minutes later he was done and I thought he did a good job.
I stepped out and into the snow again, not interested in admiring the flakes this time.

olusimeon is a lot of things and not a lot of things, discovering myself still. So far, I have found out my love for simplicity in all facets of life. Dealing with Cloud CRM systems is the hobby I get paid for, although I don’t get paid for watching football and playing chess. I love experiencing new places and people, am a little slow in making commitments (because once I do I’m all in) and am mischievous in a fun, spontaneous and random way all at the same time. See you around.
