I have always been one to appreciate and love FOOD. Yes, I am a big FOODIE and PROUD! I don’t know if it’s the taste, texture or content, I am just a foodie. Where I work, I usually get opportunities to attend workshops, seminars and conferences. Although, these can be annoying as they disrupt my daily activities at work, I always look forward to them.
On this particular occasion, I was told to attend a 2-day conference to represent my #ogaatthetop in one of the very popular hotels in Lagos. I was very excited because in addition to getting to network and rub minds with different dignitaries in my field, (oh, you guessed right) there was food.
The first day was insightful; filled with the usual deliberations on how to change the world. However, when it came to lunch, I found myself in a different world. It was buffet style so I was allowed to dip into the different countries of food as I deemed fit. Oh yes, was I in my element! I ate so much I could hardly move. Visiting these different countries brought happiness to my tummy. Guess, I am going too far but yes, the food was good.
After day 1, I got home and told my aburo about my adventures. I had some samples with me so she was able to visualise my experience. She wanted more samples and I promised to get her more from day 2.
I woke up the following day only to experience two countries doing battle in my tummy. Yes, I was having the runz. The flaggl and other medication I took didn’t help. Worse, I couldn’t even concentrate on the deliberations going on as I visited the rest room more times than failed promises Goodluck has made to Nigeria.
Here I am again, at another workshop which I don’t necessarily have to be at, but I am still here just because of the food.
Guess, I haven’t learnt my lesson.
