Today is no different from yesterday.
I wake up at 8am as usual.
Run down for breakfast. Then back up under my duvet.
Chat a little with Laide and Peter…and my little brother; Gistmaniacs.
They make me laugh.
I tune in to MBC 2 to watch a recap of Star Wars- Revenge of the Sith.
In between the movie and the thought of proper food, I finally find some time to pray.
To thank God for how far I’ve come.
For strength for the years ahead.
For the will to fight for what’s worthy;
For Grace to abstain from sin.
I’m thinking of staying indoors.
The almost heat stroke I suffered yesterday has cured me of the insane need to check out the market.
I daydream briefly of meeting someone special today. Suddenly from nowhere, I find strength to get into the shower and head for the city center.
Today might be the day the gods send down my mate.
Plus I remember some shops have sale(s) and yours truly desperately needs new clothing items.
Frayed tops and skirts will not be tolerated moving forward.
*chuckles*
Everyone says ‘moving forward’ at work. I’m sure they think we take them seriously when they use that phrase.
*scoffs*
The office.
Tears filled my eyes at the thought of returning there.
I desperately need God to come through for me again.
Seriously pray he does.
I digress.
I’m at the city center.
I have eaten twice since arriving.
“There’s still space for some more, Tumtum Big Belle”, my over zealous alter ego tells me.
“Not if washing dishes to pay for the next meal is your idea of a great day”, I whisper fiercely to her.
She quietens.
I head to la Gaufrette and stare briefly at the menu, wishing the Cesare chicken salad to life.
I close my eyes for 5 minutes and open it to find the menu in words staring back at me haughtily.
I sigh and order coffee.
That’s all the coins in my purse can afford.
It’s 19.30. I’ll wait till 2100 to hit the metro…
My phone rings.
It is the call to remind me of my outing later tonight.
It is Dubai baby!
