I did absolutely nothing today and that’s as good as anything can be.

I suppose I should backtrack and explain what nothing looks like: eating, sleeping, browsing, catching up on my shows, chatting with friends. I’m happy and that’s a good thing, it’s amazing what little things give us pleasure. Life rarely turns out the way we expect it to; I didn’t expect to be sitting at this desk two days ago, but I’m still here and that’s fine.

Summer’s well and truly here and the flies are gangster; big, small, they come in all shapes, sizes and colours. I’m seriously praying not to be covered in bumps by the end of this hitch.

I’ve had a lot of time to meditate recently and the lesson keeps revolving around trust; trusting God, believing in His word and walking in the fact that He knows what’s best for me. Letting go is incredibly hard; what if I don’t like where He takes me. I’m still in Russia, I don’t know what God’s got planned for me next but I’m game. *fingers crossed*.

I’m learning to rely less on common sense and my reasoning skills because it gets me in more trouble than it’s worth. *sigh*. On my blog rounds today, I read Kovie’s post and it got me thinking and putting finger to keyboard:

Breathtaking, every inch of you,
Spellbinding, every word from your lips,
Loved by none other than the Creator,
Look in the mirror honey,
You is beautiful inside and out.

Maybe I’ll get round to finishing it someday soon. There’s always tomorrow.
