I AM.
I needed God to be a lot of things today and He came through like He always does.
“I am” who is:
My provider — End of the month blues. Don’t act like you don’t know! Lol. I am so excited for payday tomorrow. Maybe I’ll let you hol’ 5 dollars ;) …right after my mechanic, of course.
My protector — He keeps me and mine. My cousin’s wife went into labour yesterday morning. I trusted Him for a safe delivery and a happy, healthy mama and babba. Our little one came at 3:45pm with no complications. Even though I was at the hospital till 5am, I’m still functional and looking forward to sleeping tonight.
My comforter — It has been a trying few months but every time I feel like giving up, God comes through with a warm hug.
My friend — My home slice moved in January and I really miss having her around most of the time. I have had to rely on God more than I have in the past and He has been a great listener and gives good advice too.
My father — YHVH, the transcendent source of all being who has no qualms with being personal. He chides and pets in equal measure.
My righteousness — I go to the communion service at my church every Wednesday. Communion has always been my favourite part of church even when I couldn’t fully participate. I couldn’t wait to be old enough to be confirmed yo! It is a good opportunity to take time out mid-week to take stock and remind myself what this race is all about. I’m hardly perfect (do NOT snigger! *side eye*) and I find that the rites help keep me grounded in the fact that I am justified by grace. Wednesday mornings are also, probably, the only time I do not suffer with road rage. Somebody give Jesus a wiper! Haha!
I am. My reason for being. My hope, my rock, the lifter up of my head.
